These are exciting times to be joining Blue Sky and I am in the privileged position of being involved in the expansion of our cyber security services division. We live in a time that requires us to direct a lot of resources towards protecting our connected devices from attack on many fronts. But often businesses either don’t have the knowledge available in house to offer the level of protection required or do not realise the seriousness of the situation.
My first few weeks here have been spent getting up to speed on the different web hosting platforms we provide, but I have predominantly been further researching my security toolbox.
My experience and research provide a good base for my Certified Ethical Hacker course, in early December. One of the best ways for us to test a website’s security is through penetration testing and over the next few months I am sharpening my skills required to test the security of our customer’s online presences from the perspective of a hacker. This is a great opportunity to view things from the other side and gain an understanding of additional ways to help our customers on their journey to better security.
